Eltham Palace is a large house in the Royal Borough of Greenwich owned by the Crown Estate and managed by English Heritage. Set on a moated island, it includes the late fifteenth century Great Hall – one of the UK's foremost Grade I listed buildings and a principle Royal residence during that time. The adjoining Eltham Court is a Grade II listed Art Deco house for the Courtauld family.

The site is a scheduled ancient monument and registered Grade II listed historic park and garden. Matthew Taylor, whilst at the Conservation Practice, led proposals for extensive repair and conservation to the external structure and fabric, including medieval brick walls, lead and tiled roofs, decorative stonework and leaded-light windows. The work also included specialist concrete repair to the principle entrance hall’s 1930’s domed roof, incorporating replacement glass lens lights.

The completed internal alterations improved the visitor experience with new catering and toilet facilities.
