The Ludgrove Exploration Centre includes a variety of creative and academic classrooms aimed to help students develop their hands-on experience within these subjects. The proposal consists of two science classrooms, DT workshop, art studio, ceramics workshop, and a coding classroom. Each room has ample space and facilities for students to explore and create, allowing for more engaging methods of study compared to a traditional classroom setting.
The design itself reflects themes noted in both the historic and more recent additions to the school, ensuring consistency throughout the overall masterplan. This is achieved by reading the Tudor-style facades and replicating the traditional black timber frame and white infill, but with a more contemporary approach. This feature, coupled with an exposed masonry exterior, effectively places the proposal within it's context and further consolidates the aesthetic style of the school.
