The new swimming facilities replace the original school pool and building and fit comfortably alongside the existing sports building. The modernised facilities comprise of; entrance area, spectator seating, ancillary space and parking facilities.

Materials have been selected to reflect those of the surrounding site and combine elements of the historic fabric and more contemporary buildings. Running costs for the new facility have been significantly reduced compared to the original building.
